PROVING THE POWER OF PEER-SUPPORT

We’re working with Imperial College London and Stanford University to explore how peer support can aid mental health, ease climate anxiety, and strengthen the leadership skills of young people driving climate action.

By doing this, we want to build a strong evidence base for our Climate Activation Model so we can scale it globally and make sure more young changemakers get the support they need.

Our Climate Activation Model

A peer-powered learning journey designed by a global network of changemakers and psychologists, our Climate Activation Model provides the starting point for all of our work here at The Resilience Project.

It’s built on the belief that creating lasting, meaningful change isn’t just about shifting systems, it’s also about tending to ourselves and each other along the way.

That’s why Climate Activation focuses on both the inner work and the collective work. We create spaces for people to explore their emotions, beliefs, behaviours, and values, while building strong, supportive communities rooted in care.

By addressing the mental and emotional challenges of climate action (such as anxiety, burnout, and isolation) we offer a radical, human-centered approach. One that helps people stay grounded, connected, and committed for the long run.

How effective is our online peer-support?

Since 2024, we’ve been studying how effective our online peer-support programmes really are, building on our evaluation findings that already speak volumes:

100%

of participants said Resilience Circles helped them cope with climate anxiety and avoid burnout

100%

left their Circle saying “I feel resilient”

89%

said they felt ready and equipped to start making change in the world

100%

of Resilience Residential participants described it as life-changing

Through this research, we aim to:
