We’ve lived the challenges, so we created the solutions.
That’s why The Resilience Project is youth-driven.
With a small core team working on every day operations, our work is also shaped and delivered by over two dozen young climate leaders; our Board of Youth, East Africa Steering Committee and our Resilience Fellowship Alumni.
Everyone who works on behalf of The Resilience Project has faced similar pressures, fears and frustrations as other young activists. Now, we’re here to help other activate resilience, find community, and keep driving meaningful change without burning out.

Born, raised and educated in the UK, Jade is an illustrator and animator of indigenous Taiwanese heritage. Jade has worked closely as a visual artist for several community organisations, centering community engagement workshops at the core of her research. Jade strongly believes in designing “for” and “with” a community rather than “at” one.
Jade is interested in promoting the rediscovery of forgotten indigenous handicrafts through art, as well as using her practice as a method for healing. By inviting young indigenous peoples to learn these skills from their elders, Jade believes this will help promote ethnic identity of young people; alleviate loneliness of the elderly, and strengthen the bonds between generations. Jade’s aim is to apply art to social causes and projects she cares about, through a range of art-forms.

Amritan is an operations and systems-change lead who loves turning good intentions into working systems. He’s helped mission-led teams get organised and thrive from youth-led climate action at Force of Nature, to inclusive comms at The Unmistakables, to scaling delivery in fast-growing digital teams. He sets up the calm, behind-the-scenes rhythms, budgets, people ops, transparent processes, and simple tools that make everyone’s day easier and impact clearer.
Before life in ops, he studied economics and finance and picked up a few helpful quals (CIPD, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, Scrum). He’s happiest when a messy process becomes a simple checklist, a team can breathe a little easier, and the work reaches the communities it’s meant to serve.

Hannah Mathenge is a conservationist and communicator who led the 2024 pilot phase of the East Africa Resilience Circle, empowering 14 youth across five countries to build peer-led support networks and strengthen emotional well-being. She integrates climate resilience and adaptation into community workshops, using art and advocacy to help young people express eco-anxiety creatively and transform it into collective action. As an environmental steward, she champions sustainable livelihoods that honor local knowledge and ensure communities drive their solutions rather than receive token interventions.
Hannah represents grassroots voices in regional climate forums, insisting that true resilience emerges when people shape the strategies meant to support them. Her joyful energy and warm, inviting smile make every gathering feel like home, inspiring collective ownership and long-term change.

Tala is a Palestinian yoga instructor passionate about decolonizing the yoga industry and supporting activist communities.
Her journey began after experiencing burnout from her work in the legal field and deep involvement in climate activism during university and beyond. In searching for balance, she discovered the transformative power of yoga and meditation. She now shares these practices through inclusive, trauma-aware classes that honour the roots of yoga as a movement meditation.
Her teaching emphasizes kindness, play, and self-connection, creating spaces where participants can feel safe, grounded, and empowered. She works with a range of communities, from activists and grassroots organizers to corporate teams, and offers bespoke sessions that support stress relief, resilience, and mind-body connection.
As part of The Resilience Project, she co-hosted a Resilience Circle and is currently developing a youth wellbeing programme!

Rita is a Resilience Workshop Coordinator driven by climate justice and compassion. Her path into the climate sector began when she decided to switch her career path from business to sustainability and pursue a Master’s in Sustainability Science. In her studies, she found the knowledge to understand the challenges in climate, while climate justice became her north star. Through this journey, she encountered the difficult emotions that come with climate work and learned to navigate them with compassion. After graduating, she applied her project management, academic research, and consulting experience to a mission of bridging the climate justice gap and taking care of the climate leaders working to create a fair and liveable planet.

Marina is a recently graduated journalist who is still figuring out what she wants to do with her life.
She’s very curious, and this makes it difficult for her to make decisions when it comes to focusing on a single topic to research. This is what drew her to journalism.
Currently, she feels deeply drawn to the idea of contributing to the construction of a more just world on ecological, social, economic, and political levels.
She fervently believes that another world is possible. One in which, through scientific data and successful experiences around the planet, human beings put aside capital and focus on our true essence: the deep connection between us and nature.
She completed a five-month internship at a local radio station and has trained in process work, ecology, social issues and facilitation through various Erasmus+ programs and the recently completed a programme on eco anxiety and resilence with The Resilience Project. She has also traveled during university, wich brought her an open minded and complex view of the world, that know wants to frame into local action and sistemic changes.
