Working towards social and environmental change is important and meaningful, but it can also take a huge toll on our emotional wellbeing. Supporting others through big feelings while holding your own is one of the hardest parts of the job and it’s rarely something people are trained for.

That’s why we’ve created a new half-day training for staff working in purpose-led organisations!

This new workshop offer is being designed and delivered alongside climate-aware psychologist Parker Bowling, who brings deep experience in mental health and the particular pressures facing people working for social and environmental change – giving teams the skills and confidence needed to support each other through the emotional side of doing this work. As a youth-led organisation born out of the Youth Climate Strikes, we also bring the perspective of young people themselves, helping staff better understand what the climate crisis feels like for the people they work with.

In a session that is both interactive and practical, we’ll explore:

  • How to have supportive conversations about mental health and wellbeing
  • Simple ways to run activities that help people make sense of their emotions
  • Evidence-informed tools to help staff look after themselves
  • How to build a culture of care that lasts
  • Inclusive approaches to delivering programmes, so everyone feels supported

Help Us Shape It

We’re inviting a small number of purpose-driven organisations to be among the first to take part and help shape the workshop as it develops. If that sounds like your team, we’d love to hear from you.

There are two dates to choose from:

  • Tuesday 17 November 2026
  • Tuesday 26 January 2027
