Our International Board of Youth

As a youth-led and youth-focused organisation, getting input from young climate leaders on our strategy is very important.

The Resilience Project’s Board of Youth is an international group of young people in the climate movement who come together online to advise us on our work and international expansion. They contribute to our strategy, co-design our programmes and feed into our research.

What is the purpose of the Board of Youth?
1. Community

The 2025 Board of Youth will do lots of important work, but we are first and foremost a community of incredible young change-makers from across the globe who share aims and struggles. We want to create a space for you where you can feel genuinely connected to others and find shelter in our board of care.

2. Governance

One of our core values is co-design, hence we want more voices actively assisting in the direction we should take. And that’s where you come in! We want to hear from a diverse range of voices from all over the world to help us create and deliver a programme that is as useful, effective and applicable as possible.

3. Communications

You will contribute to dreaming up, designing and creating our 2025 communications campaigns (e.g. on social media, on our blog and our newsletter) to maximise our impact. We want to platform global stories to increase awareness of the issue of climate anxiety and how it shows up in young people around the world. We hold the intention of shifting the gaze of climate anxiety to see a global experience, not just a Global North centric one.

What does being on the ‘Board of Youth’ mean?
  • Calls with a community of other young people, based on mutual support, joy, and care in 2025.

  • Offer advice and input into the shape of The Resilience Project, as we expand our life-changing work internationally.

  • Connect with a group of international young people that get what it’s like to be a young person taking action for the climate, whilst taking the time to focus also on rest and joy.

  • Developing your own resilience and gain a safety net to support your own action.

Board Activities include
  • Monthly Board calls with a group of international youth

  • Contributing to communications campaigns

  • Sharing experience and advice

Testimonials

Being a board of Youth Member of Our Resilience Project this year has been a transformative journey. Collaborating and working with passionate peers fueled my enthusiasm, and together, we achieved milestones in promoting resilience. My main highlights have been but not limited to impactful climate cafes, insightful discussions, and fostering a supportive network. I found the harbour to express my feelings of how I feel and a great sense of belonging. I celebrate my fellow board members for their dedication, creativity and for them being good listeners. Our collective efforts still emphasise the strength of unity in addressing challenges. As I reflect on the year, I carry forward the spirit of resilience, inspiring positive change and fostering a sense of community among the youth.

The Board Of Youth has been absolutely life-changing experience and I don't say that lightly, it is empowered me to carry on my work by knowing there's a support network out there and there are other people recognize the toll it takes of being a climate activist, it is giving me the opportunity to make incredible of the young people whose wisdom has helped me grow as an individual, and the work I do today, the joy I get from each call really makes a month I'm so excited to come back next year and carry on learning everything I'm so yet to learn.
