How We Change The World

It's simple: developing our mental and emotional resilience is a necessity for social and ecological transformation.

To create the most impact, our approach combines climate psychology, a community-led model and the lived experience of young changemakers around the world.

Our Resilience Circles are led and co-designed by youth, for youth. Our train-the-trainer model establishes support groups where young leaders learn how to effectively bring their peers together to build resilience.

Our free programme ranges between 8-10 weeks:

  • Engages young people in real talk about the climate crisis
  • Shares learnings from experts in the field
  • Explores resilience strategies to deal with burnout and climate anxiety
  • Creates a long-lasting community of care and joy
  • Sets young changemakers up to take action sustainably , whilst prioritising mental health
  • Empowers young environmentalists to feel confident and included

Resilience Circles

What our circle participants say

Being part of this [POC] circle was such a warming and valuable experience, as the climate space can feel large and overwhelming. We are normally seen as 'the other' in this movement but that’s not the case. The space has been wonderful, important and empowering to say the least.

I was at a real low point when the course began. Not only did this course allow me to open up and be honest with myself about how I was feeling, it created a kind of family right when I needed it. This has massively increased my resilience.

Learning strategies to deal with eco-anxiety and burnout, and doing it as part of a beautiful, loving and supportive community, has been an incredibly life-changing experience. I believe the Resilience Circle should be rolled out on a wide-scale. I could not recommend the programme more.

I recommend it to anyone in or out of activism, it embodies the vision of community that I wish to see in society. Put simply it's the highlight of my week.

Being part of the resilience circle has been incredibly valuable to me. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, allowed me to meet some incredible people and to feel understood by others. It has changed the way I treat myself and how I think about the world. I am immensely grateful for this experience and would recommend it to all.

At our nature based 'Resilience Residential', we resource, train and empower pairs of young climate leaders (aged 18-28) to co-host our Resilience Circle programme.

They emerge as skilled facilitators to lead our 8-10 week programme for young changemakers in person or online. The co-hosts may choose to build their community from people in their movements, people who live near them or people who share their lived experience.

At our free Resilience Residential you will:

  • Learn how to establish and host a Resilience Circle
  • Pause, recharge (and have fun!) in nature
  • Develop transformational leadership and facilitation skills
  • Connect with a diverse community of changemakers
  • Become a certified Mental Health First Aider and Climate Cafe facilitator

What our circle hosts say

Two words: life changing. The Resilience Project found ways to touch every aspect of my life. The six months since finding the Resilience Project has felt like learning a better reality, one that exists at the edges of what seems possible.

I entered the experience feeling unsure of my own space and where I fit in the climate movement but left knowing where I can make the best possible change.

Workshops

What our workshop clients say

The workshop was incredibly validating and gave really helpful reframes to emotions that I know myself and my peers have often yet don’t see clear pathways for support on.
