About The Resilience Project:

People around the world are trying to cope with the climate crisis, extreme weather, burnout, isolation and climate anxiety. The Resilience Project is a youth-led community resourcing young people (and changemakers in B-corporations and NGOs) to become effective and resilient climate changemakers for a sustainable future. We enable people taking action for the planet to find their voice, people and power. Our vision is a resilient changemaking culture, where kinship and compassion are embedded within the fabric of changemaking communities.

Role Overview:

Are you an organiser, programme designer, facilitator or community builder? If yes, an integral role has come up to lead the Resilience Project's youth programmes in East Africa. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter to join our team as our Youth Programmes Lead (East Africa). In this role, you will be responsible for helping establish and grow our East Africa Fellowship Programme, designing and delivering in-person and online residentials and facilitating workshops around mental health, climate anxiety and resilience, with plans to expand to other regions in the years to come. You will work closely alongside our supportive team to oversee, manage and drive our Eastern African programmes of work, including training young people to deliver our 10-week, peer-support programme across the continent. This role requires a flexible and experienced project manager with a history of managing training programmes and skill in networking.

Note: The Youth Programme Lead (East Africa) oversees select meetings and programmes that run outside of the standard work day.  A requirement for this role is to be available all day for five days in July for a TRP Residential, 14:00-16:00 BST 1st December and quarterly in 2025 to co-host Board of Youth meetings, and be willing to take community calls from 17:30-18:30 BST as needed.

  • Network Engagement: Lead in the establishment of a partnership network for The Resilience Project, engaging with like-minded organisations who could facilitate elements of the East Africa Fellowship Programme or who are interested in having the programme delivered to their team.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the leadership team to contribute to the strategic planning process, ensuring that programme objectives align with the organisation's overall mission and vision.

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution and evaluation of the East Africa Fellowship Programme, ensuring all elements are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality standards.

  • Facilitation: Engage in the facilitation of workshops to educators, b-corporate and NGO clients, both online and in-person, currently all delivered in English.
